PRESENTATION
ASSOCIATION TROCK

TrocK is a non-profitable association, which was founded in 1994 in Lausanne, Switzerland. Animated by about ten active members and supported by around hundred paying members, TrocK's role is to stimulate the Swiss musical scene by discovering promising new talents and promoting the musical activities in Switzerland as well as abroad.

TrocK's activities are structured in workshops such as the Web, Compilation, Events, and many more in which the active members invest themselves according to their motivations. All of the services provided are free and its income is provided both by its activities and its members' membership fees.

TrocK also encourages the Swiss artists (bands, live-acts, DJ's) to send their productions. All of their material is thoroughly listened, classified, and available at TrocK's office where a hotline is maintained in order to help people obtain practical information on the Swiss music business.

INFO CENTER

TrocK is a true information center for the artists and professionals of the music world. The Committee ensures the listening of CDs and demonstrations that are received as well as a practical classification of all artists'files. The association also indexes a maximum of information on the various programming of clubs and events in Switzerland. A phone permanence is also ensured during the office hours in order to directly inform the person who wish it and provide the necessary contacts. Moreover, TrocK functions like an independent news organization by communicating its information on Internet and other media (Radio, TV) along with the printed "TrocKnews" sent to its members six times a year.

CONSULTING

Trock organizes meetings on appointment for groups or other representatives of the Swiss musical scene in order to inform them of the steps to be undertaken according to their needs (CD production and promotion, musical programming, events organization ....).

TROCK EVENTS

The "TrocK event" introduces to the public Switzerland's new talents and brings together the professionals of the musical scene within a framework favorable to contacts. TrocK has been organizing since 1997 an annual Winter festival by the name of "Orgy" which takes place on the last weekend of November. This itinerant festival is programmed each time in a different club in order to promote interregional exchanges. In parallel, TrocK also takes part in the programming of various evenings and festivals.

INTERNET

TrocK website is more than the window of the association. It presents TrocK's various activities and contains weekly updated news, an access to the database of artists as well as an advertisement table allowing the concerned to communicate directly via this platform. The site is managed by a workshop in which the active members can learn how to create and hold up to date a website.

COMPILATIONS

TrocK regularly publishes compilations, which present, in an attractive way, a pallet of promising Swiss groups. They are sent to concerts organizers, music producers, artistic agencies, the press and concerned journalists but also to the members of the association. The last edition was even sold in record stores in order to give access to the general public.

REPRESENTATION

From the very start, TrocK traveled to many musical festivals and fairs in order to represent the Swiss musical scene all across Switzerland and Europe (Dublin, Barcelona, Bratislava, Printemps de Bourges, EuroPopDays in Freiburg, Rock oz' Arenes, Balelec, Baleinev, Musikmesse in Zurich, Salon de la Musique in Geneva, m4music in Zurich).
